Pandit's commitment to the Columbia University community is based on his heartfelt desire to cultivate and create dynamic spiritual community, bearing results and fruits that benefit the larger community as a whole. He is the current Hindu chaplain at Columbia University, the first individual to hold that title. At Columbia, Pandit facilitates a number of interactive and enlivening programs designed to give the community a real taste and understanding of the contemporary benefits of Vedic culture, as he lives it and knows it. He is also actively involved in outreach/activities within the Columbia interfaith community as well as with the larger interfaith community of New York City.

Here are some of his services to the Columbia community:

Vegetarian/Vegan Cooking Workshop - Pandit provides a weekly interactive seminar on vegetarian/vegan cuisine, featuring a hands-on cooking demonstration of a traditional vegetarian/vegan dish, as well as educational and enlivening facts about the benefits of the vegetarian/vegan lifestyle.

Bhagavad-Gita Discussion - Through the medium of the classic Vedic text The Bhagavad Gita, Pandit leads an interactive discussion on how the timeless wisdom of the Vedic culture can provide practical and sound techniques for improving and sustaining our individual and collective existence

Reflection - A weekly, non-denominational discussion provided by Pandit and his staff which focuses the light of spiritual values and techniques on the challenges aind issues of our contemporary lives, with particular focus on the issues and ideas facing the Columbia student community.

Mantra Meditation - From their local student center near the Columbia campus, Pandit and his staff guide members of the community into a weekly practice/study of the art of mantra meditation, a practical spiritual technique from the Vedic tradition, which helps to provide the participants with peace of mind and a deeper understanding of themselves and their potential.

Yoga Workshops - Pandit facilitates yoga retreats and workshops for the Columbia community, providing a safe and enlivening atmosphere in which participants are offered a comprehensive and interactive slate of activities (yoga, vegetarian cooking, mantra meditation, seminars) designed to provide a full experience of Vedic culture.
